From 1880 to 1914, solid metal toy soldiers made in Germany dominated the world market. They were handcrafted individually from many parts, assembled and finally painted by craftsmen. Their posture and animation gives them a touch of charm and human warmth which is an unmistakable German gift to the toy soldier art. These soldiers represented a portrait of Europe when kings and emperors ruled by divine right. It was a time when the military, in all its uniformed splendor, were at the top of the social order. Alte Deutsche Spielfiguren offers to collectors an opportunity to purchase exact replicas of the golden age of old German toy soldiers. They are made to the exact specifications of the originals. Mr. Bohline reproduces antique German toy soldiers in various sizes, from 48mm to 120mm. He is well recognized for his museum quality reproductions and his imaginative 'one of a kind' play sets. All Heyde are Size 2 (approx. 48mm) figures painted in traditional style unless stated otherwise.
All Zinnfiguren/Flats listed on this website are New Handmade sets in the Nurenberg 30mm scale, unless stated otherwise. This 30mm scale is the most popular size among collectors. The individual Flats are approximately 2mm thick and 30mm high by 15mm wide for standing figures, and approximately 45mm high by 30mm wide for mounted figures.

All Zinnfiguren/Flats are sold unpainted, unless stated otherwise. NOTE! Many of the Kilia and Heinrichsen Sets listed are painted. We also offer a high quality professional painting service for customers.
Heyde figures come painted in Traditional Toy Soldiers Style.
